Kyle Chalmers is going to be a dad!
Congratulations are in order for the 26-year-old Australian Olympic swimmer and his 24-year-old fiancée, Norwegian Olympic swimmer Ingeborg Løyning, who are expecting their first child.
The couple, who got engaged in June just weeks before Paris 2024, took to Instagram overnight to share their happy news, also revealing in their joint post the sex of their impending arrival.

”We can’t wait to welcome our little Norwegian princess into the world later this year 🌸🩷👼,” Løyning wrote alongside a photo of the duo hugging, wearing matching white shirts and coordinating ‘Dad’ and ‘Mum’ hats.
A smiling Løyning and Chalmers held up their ultrasound scans in the photo, which was flooded with congratulatory messages from Australia’s swimming elite.
“Congratulations!!! So happy for you both 🤍🤍🤍,” Mollie O’Callaghan commented on the post.

O’Callaghan’s teammate and rival Ariarne Titmus, meanwhile, wrote: “So happy for you guys xx ❤️❤️”.
“Omg congratulations!!! So happy for you both 😍,” Shayna Jack commented. “You’ll make incredible parents.”
Chalmers, who this week said he’s aiming on making the Brisbane 2032 Olympic team in what would be a “miracle” despite rumours of his retirement, announced his and Løyning’s engagement one month before he competed at Paris 2024.

Taking to Instagram, Chalmers shared a series of snaps where the smiling couple showed off Løyning’s new ring, simply writing alongside the photos: “∞”.
Alongside the eternity symbol, Chalmers wrote the date, confirming they got engaged on June 19, 2024.
The couple first sparked relationship rumours in June 2023, with Løyning seemingly confirming their romance in November 2023 in an Instagram Story.

Løyning had moved to Adelaide from Bærum, Norway, in 2022 to train.
The couple’s relationship came after Chalmers revealed he almost quit swimming following the ‘love triangle’ furore that rocked the Australian team following Cody Simpson and Emma McKeon going public with their relationship.
