Conan O’Brien has left Hollywood in stitches with his Oscars monologue.
The beloved comedian began his highly-anticipated hosting gig with a graphic nod to The Substance, in which he appears to emerge from Demi Moore’s body.
In the Oscar-nominated film, Moore’s character breaks open to make way for Margaret Qualley’s character, a scene that defined the film.

While warming up, O’Brien took a jab at Emilia Pérez star Karla Sofía Gascón in light of her recent controversy.
“I loved Anora. I really did,” O’Brien said of the Best Picture nominee.
“Anora uses the f-word 479 times. That’s three more than the record set by Karla Sofía Gascón’s publicist: ‘You tweeted WHAT?'”
In true comedic style, the star then shared a hilarious interaction with Adam Sandler, who was sitting in the audience, wearing a very relaxed ensemble.

“Adam, what are you wearing?” he jeered.
Sandler quickly retorted, “Conan, what are you doing?” to which the comedian replied, “I’m asking you what you’re wearing.”
“No one even thought about what I was wearing until you brought it up,” the Happy Gilmore star quipped.

“You are dressed like a guy playing video poker at 2AM,” O’Brien joked.
Sandler defensively added: “I like the way I look. Because I’m a good person. I don’t care about what I wear and what I don’t wear.
“My snazzy gym shorts and fluffy sweatshirt offend you so much that you had to mock me in front [of] my peers!”
O’Brien then humorously apologised.
