Pamela Bach, the American actress who originated the role of The Young and the Restless‘ Mari Jo Mason and was previously married to actor David Hasselhoff, has died. She was 61.
Bach – who was also known as Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff – was found dead in her home in Los Angeles on Wednesday (Thursday in Australia), multiple media outlets in the US are reporting.
“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” a representative for David Hasselhoff said in a statement.

“We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time,” the statement concluded.
According to TMZ, which first reported Bach’s death, the Baywatch actress’ body was discovered by family members who had not heard from her and went to check on her.
Her death is not being treates as suspicious.

Bach was married to Hasselhoff, 72, from 1989 to 2006, with the former couple sharing two children: daughters Taylor Ann Hasselhoff, 34, and Hayley Hasselhoff, 32.
She was also a grandmother to Taylor’s daughter, whom the 34-year-old welcomed with husband Madison Fiore in August.
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1963, Bach moved to Los Angeles in 1985.

That same year, she met Hasselhoff on the set of Knight Rider while filming episode ‘Knight Racer’, with the couple tying the knot four years later.
In 1991, Bach joined the cast of Hasselhoff’s show Baywatch, where she played reporter and businesswoman Kate ‘Kaye’ Morgan periodically in select episodes across seasons two, three, five and six.
Bach and Hasselhoff’s split was announced in January 2006, with Hasselhoff citing irreconcilable differences.

By August that year, the former couple’s divorce was finalised, and each were given custody of one daughter.
Hasselhoff is now married to Welsh model Hayley Roberts, 44, whom he wed in 2018.
