Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s films such as Animal and Kabir Singh received a lot of criticism for the portrayal of violence and disrespect towards women but they remain popular movies. Kabir Singh starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead while Animal featured Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol.
The filmmaker revealed recently that a big production house in Bollywood refused to cast an actor who worked in the Shahid starrer 2019 film. While he did not reveal any names, Vanga slammed the production house and also challenged them to refuse to work with Animal stars Ranbir, Triptii Dimri and Rashmika.
He said, “There’s one big production company in Bombay, I don’t want to take the name. An actor who worked in Kabir Singh, went to audition in their office. A popular actor from Kabir Singh. After the auditions, he was asked, ‘you’ve acted in Kabir Singh, right? We are not casting you. Because you acted in Kabir Singh’.”
The actor then called the filmmaker and shared this incident with him. Vang aadded, “You should’ve gone back to them and told them that now Sandeep is working with Ranbir Kapoor. Say the same thing to Ranbir Kapoor. Don’t take Triptii Dimri. Don’t take Rashmika. Don’t work with Vishal Mishra, who made that song for me.”
Further slamming the production house, the director said, “If you have guts, talk here. It’s very irritating. That guy came from somewhere, some other part of the country. He did a small role and got a little recognition. He wants to go ahead and he gives an audition. But they say you worked on that film, so our company won’t hire you. I said, ‘That company isn’t making an Avatar, take it lightly.”
