Shakira shares message to fans after being hospitalised due to abdominal issues: ‘You give me so much strength!’

Shakira has shared a heartwarming message to fans after revealing she was forced to cancel an upcoming concert in Lima, Peru, due to being hospitalised.

The Colombian hitmaker, 48, shared a post to followers on social media, thanking them for support and their messages after being hospitalised with abdominal issues.

The Hips Don’t Lie and Whenever, Wherever singer told fans that their messages give her “so much strength” amid her health battle.

”Thank you all for your loving messages,” Shakira wrote in a statement.

”You give me so much strength!! I love you with all my heart.”

She previously told fans that she was forced to cancel her concert in Lima, Peru, due to being unwell and in hospital.

She wrote in her shock statement: “I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalised.”

“The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening.”

Shakira added that she was “very sad” to miss her scheduled performance and promised her fans in Lima a new show date as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour.

Just two weeks ago, Shakira won Best Latin Pop Album and also put on a show-stopping performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

“I want to share this award with my kids, Milan and Sasha, who are here with me,” she sweetly said in her speech.

She added to her sons, who she shares with her former Spanish footballer ex Gerard Piqué: “I’m so proud of you guys, of your kind hearts.”

“Thank you so much for supporting me the way you do. I love you.”
