Arnold Schwarzenegger, the famed red carpet actor and former governor of California, expressed his admiration for his son-in-law, Chris Pratt, following the release of Pratt’s latest Marvel movie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
In a tweet on April 28, Schwarzenegger praised the actor for his performance in the film, calling it “a non-stop, perfect mix of comedy and action” and congratulating him on a job well done. Pratt, who plays Peter Quill/Star-Lord in the movie, was joined by his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, at the Los Angeles premiere on April 27.
Katherine, who is the daughter of Arnold and Maria Shriver, also shared her pride for her husband on Instagram, calling the movie “exceptional” and expressing her admiration for the cast and crew. The couple, who got married in 2019, have two daughters together, Lyla and Eloise.
Pratt himself also shared his excitement about the movie, revealing that he intentionally waited to watch the completed film until he was at the premiere with his family, friends, and fans. He described the movie as “powerful, moving, hilarious, at times gut-wrenching” and praised director James Gunn’s creative vision and imagination.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is the final installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and is considered one of the most highly anticipated Marvel movies of the year.
Pratt has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade and has starred in three Guardians of the Galaxy movies, two Avengers movies, and a holiday special. He made history in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by becoming the first actor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to say the word “f–king” on the big screen.
Pratt joked during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he had been trying to get the word into a movie for years and was excited that the moment had finally arrived.
